My alternative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping is Advent Calendar shopping. And I don’t mean shopping for Advent Calendars, lol.
The idea came to me after I received this gorgeous Bonne Maman Advent Calendar filled with limited edition mini fruit spreads and honey. I can’t wait until December 1st to start opening the little doors!

I was also inspired by the chocolate Advent Calendars at Anna Stubbe Chocolates & Confectionaries. I purchased one for my daughter so she has something to help her count down the days until she comes home for Christmas.

But, how will my Advent calendar work? Starting on December 1st, you – my Keeping Abreast subscribers – will receive an email each day featuring a COKANNA design. It will give you some gift giving ideas for loved ones on your Christmas list. And, I hope it will give you some ideas for your own wish list.
Some of the items will have a discount so don’t forget to check your email each day. And if you already get too many emails, just delete and move on. No harm done.
It’s been fun creating the Advent calendar so I hope it will be fun for you too. You don’t actually get to open little doors but you do get to open up an email with lovely photos. At the very least, it should put you in the holiday spirit and give you some gift ideas.
