Welcome to My Coffee Shop
Last spring, I started a new chapter in my life and moved into a brand new place of my own with my daughter. In keeping with the starting afresh theme, I decided to try something new with my COKANNA clothing line and came up with the Coffee Shop idea. I hosted my first one back in April 2019. It was an experiment really but it turned out to be exactly how I imagined it. Seventeen women showed up for some coffee & dessert, and some good company & conversation, with the added bonus of shopping.
Now, at least once a month I host the COKANNA Community Coffee Shop. I open up my condo for you to drop in and meet other like-minded women; and to browse, try on, and shop my Canadian-made bamboo clothing line in a relaxed atmosphere. I often have a theme for the event, or a special guest or activity to participate in if you wish. Reasons to come:
- You get to enjoy coffee/tea and desserts just like you would at a coffee shop.
- You get to enjoy each other’s company and good conversation just like at a coffee shop.
- You get to see and touch my super soft bamboo clothing. Honestly once you try bamboo, you won’t want to wear anything else. You get to try it on in a casual, relaxed, and supportive environment. And if you feel so inclined, you can shop (that’s the shop part of coffee shop) but there is absolutely no pressure or expectation to buy.
- And I could really use your honest feedback on the style and fit of my clothing. You’re my target market and I need to know what works and what doesn’t. It helps me continually improve my products to better meet your needs.
Here is the schedule for my upcoming Coffee Shops over the next few months. Register early as I only have space for 15 people. Bring a friend along and make it a girls’ afternoon out. And don’t worry if you don’t register in time to get a VIP ticket, you can always sign up for the next one.
Sunday, January 12th, 1:00 to 4:00 pm – Calling all Curvy Gals (size 14 to 22)
This is an opportunity to sit down for coffee with other like-minded women and have an open discussion about curvy size styles & fit, and shopping preferences. I’ll also have curvy size samples for you to try on and provide feedback.
Saturday, January 25, 2020, 1:00 to 4:00 pm – Sample & Seconds Sale
In developing new styles, it takes a lot of samples to get the style & fit just right. Plus, in the production process, it’s standard to expect a certain percentage of finished garments with flaws in them which can range from crooked stitching to wavy zippers to lines in the fabric. And I often have XS or XXL leftover from previous seasons. What to do with all these extra garments? Well, I’m having a Sample & Seconds Sale. Everything will be sold “as is” for $25.00 plus HST. Don’t miss out on this once a year sale!!
Sunday, February 9, 2020, 1:00 to 4:00 pm – Winter Blues Pick Me Up
Candice Arseneau, Psychic Medium, will be my special guest. She’ll be available to do 15 minute psychic readings for $35 if you feel so inclined, in between sipping coffee, nibbling on desserts, and shopping! I had the pleasure of doing a reading with Candice a couple of months ago and let me just say, she is good! It’s something fun and different to look forward to in February when we’re sick and tired of winter! Bring a friend along to share in the fun.
Sunday, March 15, 2020, 1:00 to 4:00 pm – Sip & Stretch Yoga with Jas Bhandal
Jas Bhandal is a tea-drinking, dessert-loving, world-travelling yogi known for her passion, unique approach, and inspirational teaching style that embodies physical, spiritual, and mental strength. With over 18 years of experience, she makes yoga accessible for every BODY. You don’t need to have yoga experience or even bring a yoga mat for this coffee shop. Jas will take us through a series of fun movements and poses linked through deep breathing exercises. You’ve never experienced a yoga session like this before! Simply show up, relax, breathe, and gently stretch. Nothing to wear? We’ve got you covered. Shop for soft breathable bamboo leggings and a tank top. So, come as you are and get your stretch on.
Check back often for updates to the Coffee Shop schedule.
In the meantime, thanks so much for registering and I can’t wait to see you for a coffee!
