Welcome to My Virtual Coffee Shop
At the start of the pandemic, I opened up the COKANNA Virtual Coffee Shop online to temporarily replace the in-person coffee shops in my home studio. It was a way to stay connected in the community and provide a safe place to check in and see how everyone was doing.
Since then, it’s evolved and become a permanent fixture so please drop into my COKANNA Virtual Coffee Shop and become a member. Once a month, we have a coffee shop chat on zoom featuring a special guest. You just have to bring your own coffee and dessert!
It all began when I started a new chapter in my life and moved into a place of my own with my daughter. In keeping with the starting afresh theme, I decided to try something new with my COKANNA clothing line and came up with the Coffee Shop idea. I hosted my first one back in April 2019. It was an experiment really but it turned out to be exactly how I imagined it. Women coming together for some coffee and dessert, some good company and conversation, with the added bonus of shopping. Since then, it’s evolved into a virtual experience, still with the same good company and conversation, and shopping on the side, but now in the comfort of your home with the beverage of your choice.
How the virtual coffee shop works
Every month a special guest joins us in the coffee shop on zoom. So far, I’ve had everything from a psychic medium doing tarot card readings, to a photographer showing us how to look good in photos, to a discussion on normalizing conversations about end of life, to a tour of a llama/alpaca farm. It’s a way to introduce you to new ideas, activities, people and businesses in a safe and supportive environment. It also creates awareness and support for local artists, entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Here’s the schedule for the coffee shops coming up. Mark your calendar and register early by clicking on the date. Once you’ve registered, you’ll get an email with the link to the zoom meeting.
Check back often for updates to the schedule. If you have any requests, ideas or suggestions for future coffee shops, I would love to hear from you. Send me an email at email@example.com.
See you inside the coffee shop and don’t forget to BYOCT (bring your own coffee/tea).
