Do you have a favourite go-to piece of clothing in your closet? You know, the one you always reach for when you don’t know what to wear?

And, when you wear it, do you look great, feel good, and walk with a swagger? Do you get a lot of compliments? Does it bring you joy?

My old favourite

Years ago, I had a black full-length trench coat. It was lined so I could wear it all winter…well, I should qualify that and say, for most of our Canadian winter days! I was just starting out in my accounting career so not making a lot of money back then. My mom helped me buy it.

If memory serves, it was from Robinson’s Department Store in the St. Laurent Shopping Centre. I believe Robinson’s was formerly Ogilvy’s. Do you remember Robinson’s or Ogilvy’s?

Anyway, I loved that coat. It fit me perfectly in all the right places – the length, the sleeves, the shoulders, the waist. I was working at a public accounting firm, and whenever I wore it, I felt professional, like I fit in, like an accountant. It felt good. I had a swagger. And, I got lots of compliments.

Looking back, I wonder was it the actual coat that everyone admired? Or, was it that I walked a little taller and more confidently and that’s what people took note of?

I enjoyed that coat for many years. Even after I stopped wearing it, it hung in my closet for several more years. Finally, it was time to let it go. I gave it to charity and hopefully, it found its way to another wearer who loved it too.

Sometimes, it’s surprising what becomes your go-to, wear-it-all-the-time piece of clothing. When you purchase a new top, pant, or whatever it may be, you might not be 100% sure at first. Then you put it on, move in it, look in the mirror, and you feel like a million bucks.

My new favourite

Now that I design a clothing line, I’m always on the quest to make that perfect piece. I think I’ve come as close as one can get with the Lynne pant. It’s my personal favourite and my everyday go-to item in my closet.

The Lynne is like a legging but not. It has the slim fit of a legging but the look of a dressier pant. The wide waistband gently hugs your tummy and keeps everything in place without being uncomfortable. As one customer says, “They’re not your Spanx!” The rib panel down the side nicely contours your leg. And, no pockets means a smooth uncluttered look under your tops. The boot cut rests perfectly overtop your ankle boots or shoes, and tucks easily into your high top boots.

The Lynne Pant

The bamboo is super soft and breathable. Another customer says, “I forget I have them on, they’re that comfy!” Because they’re thermal regulating which means they keep you warm when you’re cool and cool when you’re warm, you can wear them for almost any activity. Some customers wear them to skate, others for walks or hikes, and still others wear them for yoga. They bend and move with your body and don’t lose their shape. And, they’re versatile enough to wear to work.

The Lynne is great for all your activities

The best thing though, the Lynne fits all shapes and body types. Once at a fashion show, a guest came up to me after seeing them on the runway and said, “It’s like those magic jeans in the movie, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. That pant looks great on everyone”. Then she bought a pair.

You can even wear the Lynne to work

The Lynne really is your everyday, everything, everywhere pant especially as we head into the uncertainty of a new season with this pandemic. We need those comfort clothes. Customers often buy 2 pair so they never have to go without, when one is in the wash.

And, for those of you who prefer a wider leg, there is the Joan trouser. It has the same wide and comfy waistband but with a generous cut leg and no rib detail down the side.

What’s your favourite?

Now, tell me about your favourite, wear-it-all-the-time, love-it-to-death item in your closet…or should I say…on your body right now! Post in the comments. And, if you don’t have a favourite or need a new favourite, then grab a pair of Lynne pants. I promise you they’ll be your new go-to item in your wardrobe.

I want the Lynne
