Can you help me name the bamboo swing top? From the beginning, I’ve named my designs after women I know, love, and admire.
What’s in a name
I’m always inspired by the women I meet, their strength, courage, compassion, and determination. It shows up in different ways, but I see it in all of them. So, it makes perfect sense to name my designs after those who have left an impression on my heart.
Many of these women have been touched by breast cancer. I’m honoured to have them lend their name to my designs. All of the women have a personal story they own and share, with all its ups and downs and windy paths. Lives well-lived and filled with discovery and growth along the way.
Something different
For this latest design, I would like to do something different and have you come up with the name. Think about a family member, friend, neighbour, co-worker, mentor, anyone you admire. Someone who epitomizes the strength and resiliency of bamboo. Yet, has the softness and compassion of a kind and loving soul. Someone who comes to mind when you hear these words:
“Strong Back, Soft Front, Wild Heart” ~ Roshi Joan Halifax and Brené Brown
A woman you think would look fabulous in this rich raspberry colour and this soft swingy style.

Reversible Swing Top in Raspberry
Someone who doesn’t mind sharing a bit about themselves. And ideally, someone who is comfortable in front of a camera and doesn’t mind having their image grace my website and social media. This last one is not a deal breaker. It’s an added benefit, a nice to have, but not a requirement.
Only limitation
The only limitation is it can’t be a name I’ve already used for obvious reasons. So, here’s a list of names already taken:
- Maddison
- Maxine
- Jenn
- Claire
- Patti
- Vesna
- Lynne
- Joan
- Patricia
- Carolyn
- Anna
- Pamela
- Joy
Oh, and I was just thinking, it doesn’t have to be someone who is currently living. I don’t feel that should be a limitation. Maxine passed away last year and I love that her name lives on with the Maxine tank.
Nominations
Nominate your chosen name/person in the comments section below or send me an email at colleen@cokanna.ca. Tell me why you’re nominating them. Then I thought we could do a Live Chat on Facebook and I could read out all the nominees and we could have a vote. Or maybe we could do a COKANNA Coffee Shop session on Zoom and pick the winning name that way. It would be just like the Ocars but instead of a gold statue, it will be a raspberry swing top!
Pre-Order
In the meantime, you can pre-order the raspberry swing top here. It comes in 4 sizes: Size 1(S), 2(M), 3(L), 4(XL) and the sizes are generous. I’m only making 22 of them so don’t miss out!
P.S. Join me on Facebook for Live Chat Tuesday at 12:00 pm, and we’ll talk about the name nominations! Live Chat Tuesday Reminder.
Until next time,
~ Colleen
