I’m planning a Holiday Sweets & Shopping Fundraiser. Are you in? I know we’re just getting Halloween over with and we haven’t even fallen out of daylight saving time yet. But, tomorrow is November 1st and that means there’s only 55 days until Christmas.

As many of you know, I host the COKANNA Virtual Coffee Shop group online. Once a month, we have a coffee shop get together with a special guest speaker. Since the pandemic, these free events have been on Zoom. However, to close out 2022 on a high note, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to meet in-person and combine it with a holiday market.

Event Details
  • WHO: COKANNA Bamboo Clothing, Wanderlust Scarves, Red Raspberry Studios
  • WHAT: In-person Coffee Shop Fundraiser with coffee/tea, desserts, and shopping
  • WHERE: My home studio at 200 Boundstone Way, Unit 105, Kanata, K2T 0M9
  • WHEN: Sunday, December 4, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
  • WHY: To come together in celebration of the holidays, enjoy each other’s company with coffee/tea & dessert, get some shopping done, and support the Ottawa Food Bank.
Tickets

To make it easy, I’ve set up the Sweets & Shopping Coffee Shop Fundraiser on Eventbrite. You can grab a ticket for yourself and a friend. The tickets are a $10 donation to the Ottawa Food Bank.

Purchasing a ticket in advance lets me know how many people to expect and plan for. It’s been my experience that only 50% of people who register for a free event actually show up. I’m hoping a nominal donation fee of $10 will entice you to not only come out for a fun afternoon of gift shopping in a warm and welcoming environment, but also gift back to the community by supporting families in need this holiday season.

As further incentive, Heidi McLaren will be here with her beautiful hand-picked Wanderlust Scarves. She is clearing out all her inventory so there will be great deals to be had. And scarves always make a lovely gift.

I’m also excited to have Barbi Defazio from Red Raspberry Studios with her wonderfully creative and quirky art. She’ll have brooches, cards, mugs, Christmas stockings, and much more. Pick up a whimsical lady or flower art piece for someone special on your Christmas list.

I’ll have my summer wear on sale for 50% off. This includes my Carolyn Reversible Bamboo Dress and my Maxine Reversible Tank Top. Everything else will be 15% off because we all need a little break this holiday season from the rising cost of groceries, gas, utilities, interest rates…you name it, it’s gone up.

Directions & Parking

I’m located in Kanata North. The closest intersection is Terry Fox & Huntsville. It’s about 3 km or so off the Queensway. I’m in the building at the very end of Boundstone Way. There are 3 visitor parking spots + 1 accessible spot in the parking lot to the right of the building. You can also park around the circle in front of the building or along Boundstone Way.

Look forward to seeing you

I hope to see you on December 4th. You’re welcome to wear a face mask. There will be hand sanitizer at the door. I do have a dog. His name is Oliver and he’s a 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier. He’s sweet, well behaved, never barks, and loves to be pet. He’ll greet you at the door!

In the meantime, Trick or treat, smell my feet, and I’ll give you something good eat…on December 4th…and I promise you won’t have to smell my feet!

Until next week,

~ Colleen
