Wishing you a Merry Christmas by Colleen Kanna, Photo by freestocks.org on Unsplash

I’m wishing you a Merry Christmas because it’s December 21st. But, I gotta say it doesn’t feel like Christmas at all. Even though the house is decorated and most of the gifts are bought, wrapped, and under the tree. And most importantly, my daughter is arriving home from being away at school. I can’t tell you what an excited and grateful mom I am. I was counting down the sleeps this week! Part of the un-Christmasy feeling though is the fact that it’s raining outside.

This year, 2018, has not been the year I had anticipated at all. If you’d told me midway through that I would be starting 2019 completely alone, I would have laughed and shook my head in disbelief.

But, life has a funny way of throwing you unexpected curve balls. Even though it’s difficult to fathom in the moment when the chaos is happening all around you and you just want to duck and hide, it’s usually exactly what you need to happen.

Before the holiday festivities begin, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being open to receiving my Keeping Abreast blog every week. I hope it informs, entertains, and touches your heart in some small way. And, to let you know how appreciative I am of your comments and feedback. Your words keep me going, keep me writing.

I would like to leave you with this thought:

No matter what ‘s going on in your life, remember that the feeling or emotion you are experiencing right now, good or bad, positive or negative, is not forever. It will always pass. Don’t rush it, bury it, or side step it. Just feel it, savour it, and know it will not last forever.

Wishing you and your loved ones all the best for the holidays and a New Year full of love, hope, and abundance
